Michael Foley, JD, MHA, LNFA - Administrator
Michael Foley has been working in long term care since 2012 after careers in Education and Law. Graduating from Florida State University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s in Education, he embraced the challenge of law school, graduating from FSU’s College of Law in 2003 where as a student he was able to attend the Oxford summer program in the United Kingdom and had the privilege of serving as an intern at the State Attorney’s Office in Tallahassee. Following his move to Texas, Michael became a licensed attorney but found a passion for helping others in the healthcare field. He returned to school, receiving his Masters of Health Administration from Texas State University in 2012 and has found great fulfillment in our industry ever since.
Michael shares his passion with his lovely wife, Natalie, who works as an LVN for a home health company and their amazing son, Kaiden who is the highlight of Michael’s world and who has spent a good portion of his young life sharing his bright smile and energy with seniors in long term care. Michael is the embodiment of an Eagle Scout (1996) and he knows the value of perseverance, dedication, patience and tenacity, earning his black belt in Shaolin-Do Kung Fu in 2017.
Patrick James, RN - Director of Nurses
Patrick comes to Oaks Nursing Center from the Midland area. His past life includes working for many years in the oil field. After the collapse of oil prices, Patrick decided it was time to find work that would be more stable than the oil fields. And, here he is; a nurse! Patrick first went to school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse and, after a few years as such went back to school to obtain his licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Patrick was first employed by Oaks as a charge nurse providing direct patient care to the residents. When the previous Director of Nurses stepped up the career ladder, Patrick was the first person to put his name in the hat for consideration. After considerable interviews and multiple candidates he came out on top of the pack and has now been the Director of Nurses for over one year. In this time frame the facility has seen resident satisfaction increase, employee satisfaction increase and the facilities medicare star rating raise to 5 Stars.
Patrick can be found in various cities across Texas when not at the facility, trying new restaurants with his wife, Angela and exploring the local life these places have to offer. They recently purchased a new RV and hope to visit more state parks in the near future.
